High temperature and light further intensify degradation. Additives like stabilizers offer partial protection but cannot fully prevent solvent attack. To extend PVC’s service life, material modifications—such as blending with fluoroplastics or applying protective coatings—are recommended, along with strict environmental controls and regular inspection. Avoiding contact with incompatible chemicals and considering alternative materials like ceramics or corrosion-resistant metals in harsh conditions are critical for safety and performance.
